When you need to define a good or bad roll it’s essential to know the roll hardness profile. A good paper roll is wound with uniform or diminishing hardness from the core to the outside of the roll.
If your rolls of paper, paperboard, cardboard, corrugated, films or non-wovens are wound too soft, or too tight, then you’ll encounter problems. Rolls should be wound to support their own weight and sustain some impact and compressive loads during shipping and handling.
