Description
Brought to you by Testing Machines Inc, our physical property specialist testing brand, our industrial heat sealer is designed to produce heated crimp seals for flexible packaging materials
Hot sealing machine basics
Heat sealing is the most commonly used method of sealing packages. That’s because it’s an economical choice that creates a high-integrity seal.
A heat seal must be strong enough to withstand the rigors of shipping and handling, while allowing easy access for the end-user.

Hot sealing machine controls: digital and analog
A digitally controlled heat sealer
Set the temperature of both the upper and the lower seal jaws precisely and independently with our sophisticated digital controls. This means that you can ensure the temperature across the entire length of the seal.
Seal pressure heat sealer control
Change the seal pressure with a simple adjustment of the cylinder’s analog gauge. You can be confident of sealing consistency for each and every sample, whether you are seal testing, developing packaging or preparing your products for distribution.
Auto cycle heat sealer option
The auto cycle switch allows continuous cycling of the sealing jaws for quick sample sealing. This reduces operator fatigue by eliminating the need to use the footswitch for each seal – great for high volume lab testing applications.
Quick-change heat sealer jaws
Swap out the seal jaw inserts fast with any seal pattern up to 30.4 cm long (12in.) Using our hot sealing machine you can change the sealing pattern in a matter of minutes, without changing the heaters or wiring.
Many more hot sealing / heat sealing machines
We make a wide range of industrial heat sealer devices and related accessories. For example, we also manufacture both the TS-4 Heat Seal tester and the SL-10 hot sealing machine.
Hot of the press heat sealer news
We like to share the lessons learnt over many decades of making hot sealing machines. If you’ve got questions, start with this Industrial Physics blog that answers some heat sealer FAQs, then perhaps read this article that explores a variety of flexible packaging equipment and methods.
How to use a heat sealer
When using a heat sealer you need a hot sealing machine that will carefully manage the following three factors to produce an effective crimp seal:
Heat: the temperature of the hot sealing machine’s surfaces
Dwell: the amount of time the heat sealer’s jaws are in contact with the sealing material
Pressure: the pressure applied by the heat sealer.
The digitally controlled temperature and dwell time of the TS-12 heat sealer makes it really easy to use. It’s a hot sealing machine that balances these three factors carefully to create an effective seal.
Once your heat seal is created you can perform a hot tack test to validate how well it’s able to withstand force. This is important to determine its ability to withstand the kind of weights and pressures it will encounter during its lifespan.
